F2PMeter: Is Seafight at War Truly Free to Play?
In Seafight players find themselves as the captain of their own ship, sailing the seven seas in search of treasure and adventure. Developed by Bigpoint and released back in 2006, It’s a free to play browser-based game that focuses on PvP, with players and their alliances battling against each other in sea-based warfare!

Does the game require an initial purchase?
No purchases are required to play the game.
Does the game require any continued paid subscription?

Players can purchase a 6 month or 1 year subscription to the VIP “Premium” account option, but it is not a requirement to play the game and simply offers various boosts and advantages.
Does the game require spending money on DLC packs or expansions?
There are no DLC or expansions available.
Does the game support micro-transactions? Can anything be purchased in-game using real world money?

There are various things that can be purchased for the game, including various Advantage Packs with their own account boosts, various Event Resources that can be purchased to gain access to event only items. Primarily players can purchase Pearls, which are the more premium of the two in-game currencies; Pearls can be earn through gameplay in smaller amount, but large bundles of them can be purchased with cash.
Do any of the micro-transactions give players an advantages?

Everything from the top ships, best weapons, crystals for new skills, and more can all be purchased with Pearls. As Pearls can be purchased directly this means players can get an incredible advantage quickly over free to play accounts.
Is the user interface customization restricted to paid options?
Players can move around and lock various UI elements, but this option isn’t restricted to a paid feature.
Does the game give access to all available classes and/or races?
The game doesn’t have classes or races, but all ships can be earned and purchased by F2P players.
Does the game require have limitations to how the 'Auction House' /Market/Trade system is accessed?
All players are free to purchase items through the Market Cove feature.

If you like uneventful PVE with point and click combat that lacks no strategy, then you’ll find plenty of enjoyment in the game. The main fun from the game is through PVP which takes a while to level up high enough to access. Once you reach the higher zones the players that have played for years will absolutely decimate new players and it takes a ridiculously long time to upgrade your ship. Therefore, paying players will be able to get ahead quicker and keep up with veterans if they wanted to.
