Call of War news January 2020 and upcoming Events

Bytro Labs have big plans for 2020. Call of War 1.5 will be the game-defining theme this year, bringing new balancing, mechanics, and more.

However, before we release Call of War 1.5, the entire Call of War community will have the opportunity to test the changes several times and to give us their feedback in the course of several test events in the next few months so that we can also consider the wishes and ideas of our players in Call of War.

Until then, however, there is still a long way to go, major changes require meticulous preparation and planning so that they are properly balanced. In order to make the waiting time a bit easier for the players last year, along with the long-anticipated addition of Sound and Music we started to graphically raise Call of War to a new level. After the navy and air units got a fresh look at the end of last year, we are now looking at the infantry and armored units in the game at the beginning of 2020 and, on the side have also taken care of some bugs and inconveniences in the game.

General changes on Call of War:

Resource trading between players who are not part of the same coalition or team has been reactivated.

We have improved the dots and lines that indicate the positions of the units and made sure that attack arrows disappear again when the attack command was executed or the enemy was destroyed, and we have also adjusted the profile display so that it no longer hides any buttons.

We have improved the appearance of position lines and points:

  • We made position points a bit bigger and added a white border to improve their visibility.

  • Position lines now appear earlier and are now also visible when a unit is selected.

  • We have removed the abbreviation “km” for ranges and speed information from the unit details. Since the scaling of the maps differs from scenario to scenario, “km” is misleading and not very realistic. We have removed the specification to make it clear that speed and range are relative values and do not reflect the real values 1: 1.
