GAMEPLAY

the game on match is themselves play like many other MOBAs that come before them, though the third person perspective completely changes the mechanics and strategy required in this game as opposed to the typical overhead isometric view that MOBA players have become accustomed to. With this third person viewpoint and WASD keyboard movement players need to be more conscious about what is coming up from behind them as well as guarding their flanks, less perceptive fighter may only realise the enemies upon them when it’s too late.

The main premise is that for each type of battle mode there are two teams, either 1 on 1 Jousts (duels) and up to 5v5 (as well as a novel Arena mode), where both sides are battling to take down the enemy Titans, an NPC boss in the opposition base that once killed spells victory for the slayers and the end of the game. To get to the enemy base players must navigate one or more lanes that are guarded by continuously spawning waves of minions (for both sides) and defensive towers that will attack both NPCs and Players alike; the key to victory is destroying these towers and pushing into the enemy base to kill their Titan. Each Titan is guarded by three Phoenix, which act like a tower themselves, that if killed boosts the power level of enemy minions, making victory that one step closer, however over time the Phoenix respawn.

The maps are typically broken down into one or more lanes that both teams use and which link both teams’ bases, between the lanes and to the side are jungle areas where players are invisible on the overhead map and here they can fight AI creatures to gain benefits and boosts to help them in the game.

During all this players must compete with the opposition champions, either AI controlled in coop mode or typically players when playing in the normal or ranked PvP modes. Each chosen god has their own powers and abilities that they can use in battle to attack, move, heal and more and depending on the combination of gods in a team can create endless strategic and tactical choices. As players kill enemies, both minions and players alike, they will level up in the match and will unlock new abilities as well as increase the power of those they have already on locked, however this character levelling up resets at the end of each match.

THE GODS

There are currently 51 different gods to play as from all different mythologies, from Thor, Anubis, Guan Yu, Hercules, Loki and many more, each with a variety of different skins and upgrades that players can unlock over time through gameplay or in game purchases. Each god falls into their own individual roles including Warrior, Assassin, Guardian, Mage and Hunter, each role generalise how a God should be played and what it is most useful for such as absorbing damage or being high DPS as well as defining whether they are melee or ranged fighters. However, as players can purchase items in the battle with the gold they earned from killing enemies players can build their characters to be suited to a variety of secondary roles if needed.
