RACES

The three races of RF Online each hold significant unique elements to them, the story and culture of a race is vastly different between that of its enemies and these differences are apparent throughout many features of the game. Firstly while three of the four classes are available to all the races (the mechanical Accretia Empire do not have access to the Spiritualist class) each class looks and acts very differently for each race. Throughout the levelling process each class will have unique promotion ranks once you hit a set level (e.g. level 30/40) that give different new class skills depending on your chosen race.

Each race also has one aspect that is completely unique to them:

Launchers - Only available to the Accretians, these massive rocket launchers are bigger than any average man could hold and have unstoppable firepower.

MAU Equipment - These epic field armour suits are available to the Bellato Union, though not originally made or intended for battle, these suits now bolster the Bellator soldiers.

Animus - With holy beliefs the Cora have access to the Animus; subservient almost angelic beings to benefit the one who summoned it. As a Cora grows in strength so too will the Animus they are able to call forth.

CLASSES

The four classes available are Warrior, Ranger, Spiritualist and Specialist. All but the Spiritualist are available to all races, the Accretia do not have access to it.

Warrior
Primary melee class with access to axes, swords, daggers and more. Depending on the race chosen your Warrior may be able to promote into a different sub-class and gain new class skills, e.g. Level 30 Cora Warrior can become a two-handed weapon “Champion” or a single-handed with shield “Knight”, whereas the Accretia warrior can be a “Destroyer” or “Gladius” and the Bellato have “Commando” and “Miler”, each has similar play styles as their counterparts but still having different class skills.

Ranger
As expected the Ranger is one of your ranged classes, able to spec short and long-range weapons or into trap finding scout class with long range weapons, their profession ranks are “Gunner” or “Scouter” (Accretia), “Archer” or “Hunter” (Bellato) and “Desperado” and “Sniper” (Cora). The Accretia’s “Gunner” is the promotion that allows you to use Launchers.

Spiritualist
Magic casters able to use various “forces”, different elemental aspects of magic. Available only to Cora and Bellato their level 30 profession ranks consist of focusing on attack powers or support powers, the “Psyper” or “Chandra” (Bellato) and “Caster” and “Summoner” (Cora). The Summoner is the only role who can summon the Animus.

Specialist
The primary crafter and resource gathering class, Specialists are able to make a manner of different constructs such as weapons and armour. As with the other classes they each of a unique profession name: “Craftsman” (Cora and Bellato) and “Engineer” (Accretia). The Bellato specialists can also be a “Driver” who are responsible for operating their MAU’s.

BATTLE DUNGEONS

A race against the clock these instanced Battle Dungeons are for a group of up to eight players to complete a given objective within an allotted time limit. Accessed through gateway portals a group must acquire a gateway generator (gained from PvE) at which point they can access the dungeon, within are creatures that are similar to those that occupy the normal world, however their abilities are different and they are considerably stronger.

Upon entering the mission briefing will appear and the countdown will begin, each dungeon has its own mission which will either be a “Kill the Dungeon Boss”, “Kill <Number> of Monster” or “Solve a Puzzle”. If the dungeon is completed within the time limit then rewards are given to the successful group and a portal home is opened, however, if the objective is completed but not in time then the group receives nothing.

PVP

There are a number of unique ways in which players can compete in PvP with each other in RF Online, emphasizing the conflict between the various races.

The Guild Scramble - Facilitating the huge demand for e-sports Guilds can propose organizes instanced Guild v Guild fights. During the proposal a guild is able to select their opponent guild, the map they wish to fight on and a starting date and time for the battle.

This then gives the guilds time to prepare and put forward their guild members who will be participating in the Scramble. There is a fee of 5,000 gold per guild member joining the scramble, and the winner gets 10,000 gold back. The Scramble is a sport in its own right, where the opposing guilds must score points with a gravity stone like in American Football. The team with the most points at the end wins the game.

Chip War - The primary RvR (Race v Race) combat system available in RF Online. RvR can happen in two places, firstly the regional areas that exist where open PvP is available and players can simply enter and fight each other. Secondly are the “Regulation System Warfare”, which best demonstrate the war between the races of RF Online.
These battles occur three times a day (6:00, 14:00 and 22:00) where the three races battle for control of a “holystone” and the winning race have exclusive rights of mining the holy stone; this ware did begin due to a decline in resources after all. A quest is made accessible and then it is a battle between the three races to destroy the enemies’ bases and their Regulation Equipment, or acquire a “Holymental Scanner” that is dropped by an elite guard mob near each teams’ base.
