In Throne: Kingdom at War players rule over their own medieval castle. They must take care of upgrading buildings, learning new technologies and assembling a mighty army as they battle against other players for rank. It’s free to play, but let’s see how free to play it really is after it’s been through the F2PMeter!
Does the game require an initial purchase?

Does the game require any continued paid subscription?

The subscription is an optional VIP system that allows players to spend money to activate their VIP status that last twenty four hours, seven days or thirty days total. VIP level is increased by buying multiple VIP points with gold premium currency, which increases their VIP level providing further bonuses and boost items to their VIP when they activate it.
Does the game require spending money on DLC packs or expansions?

'No'

The game has no DLC or expansions.
Does the game support micro-transactions? Can anything be purchased in-game using real world money?

'Yes' takes away 5%

The primary micro-transaction is done through purchasing premium Gold currency which can be earned from time to time in game, but is mainly acquired by spending real money. Gold is used to purchase VIP, packages that provide various boosters and items (most of which can be earned through gameplay as well). Gold is also spent when rushing various projects, research, training and building as well as buying needed resources.
Do any of the micro-transactions give players an advantages?

'Yes' takes away 15%

Literally everything can be purchased with premium currency, players can constantly level up quicker, acquire more resources, field a larger army and generally be more powerful than a non-paying player. In earlier levels these are more pay for convenience, but at more competitive end-game levels these become greater advantages.
Is the user interface customization restricted to paid options?

'No'

The UI cannot be customized.
Does the game give access to all available classes and/or races?

'Yes'

There are no classes or races in the game.
Does the game require have limitations to how the 'Auction House' /Market/Trade system is accessed?

'No'

Players can freely trade with one another.
Are personal inventory and/or bank slots limited at all?

The game has no limitations to storage.
Are all dungeons and zones accessible without purchases?

The enjoyment for most players with these games is the competitive nature and PVP focuses aspect. Whilst it is fully possible to do well without paying for premium currency it is clear to see how it can be used to give advantages in every aspect of the game and, fundamentally, those who purchase gold and VIP will always have the edge. If being the best of the best isn’t a priority, then the game can still be enjoyable.
