Aion is becoming free-to-play in Europe the next February

NCSoft has unveieled that Aion is becoming free-to-play in Europe the next February.

This free version will be launched first in the UK, France and Germany, and then be available elsewhere in Western Europe. So far no plans have been confirmed for North America.

"By adopting the free-to-play business model we hope that more players can experience the epic story of Aion" said Songyee Yoon, head of strategic operations of NCsoft. "NCsoft is pleased to have reached an agreement with Gameforge, who has a long experience in the world of free-to-play MMOs and knows perfectly the European market."
