19 Years of a Global MMORPG Legacy

Shortly after looking ahead to new projects, Gameforge is also celebrating one of its most enduring successes. In January, Metin2 marked its 19th anniversary, underlining the game’s long-standing appeal and continued evolution.

Even after nearly two decades, the MMORPG remains a strong pillar of Gameforge’s portfolio, supported by regular events, ongoing updates, and a dedicated international player base. Most recently, the major update Tyranny of Aamon introduced Moonshadow Vale, giving players a new region to explore along with fresh challenges and content.

As Metin2 moves closer to its 20th year, further updates and events are already in the works—demonstrating Gameforge’s continued commitment to its legacy titles.

We’re starting the new year with festivities for the 19th anniversary of Metin2, and you’re invited to the birthday party.

Birthday Party

Anniversary and Boss Reaper Event

Event starts: 9th January 2026 – midnight (CET)
Event ends: 31st January 2026 – 11:59 PM (CET)

The kingdoms are decked out ready for the celebrations, but monsters have nicked all the colourful flags! Hunt them down and retrieve the Party Flags. Exchange them for a slice of birthday cake from the NPC Cherie and benefit from a 100% EXP bonus for 30 minutes. Had your fill of cake? Cherie will give you an Anniversary Coin up to 7 times per day for your Party Flags. These can be used to buy loads of useful items from the Anniversary Merchant!

We’re also launching an anniversary special of our popular Boss Reaper Event. Hunt down the Shadow Warrior, earn hits and use this chance to pick up a Bronze, Silver or Golden Decimus Chest which may contain valuable Anniversary Coins.
Free Bonsai in the Shop

Pick up a free pet Bonsai for 30 days (without bonuses) as your party gift, available once per account, and take the pint-sized warrior with you on your adventures!
Moonlight Treasure Chest Drop

Watch out for the mysterious Moonlight Treasure Chests dropped by your enemies in all areas – they contain valuable items!

Metin Fever

Caution: Metin Fever is on the rise! Destroy the Metin stones and face off against menacing bosses – Beran-Setaou, Jotun Thrym, Mysterious Monk and many other enemies are carriers of hefty loot!

Destroy 5 Metin stones in your level range (from level 30) and receive 1 Challenge Scroll daily. With this scroll you can summon a special Metin stone which you must destroy to face an especially difficult opponent.
Tip: Luck is on your side on the continent of Yohara – the probability of even more dangerous bosses appearing is much higher in Yohara.
Fishing Jigsaw

Fish for victory during the Fishing Jigsaw event and earn some great prizes from this relaxing pastime!
