First Look at Duelyst

This week we tried out the new card collecting meets tactical RPG style combat game Duelyst from Counterplay Games, an interesting blend of two genres that takes the general card collecting and deck building of a traditional TCG, even in game turn based features such as card drawing and spending mana, but turns it into an almost chess styles tactical arena battle. Minion cards drawn from the deck are placed on the board alongside the General which they must protect and simultaneously try to destroy the enemy General.

In our First Look we guide you through the various features and check out some actual gameplay, trying out the Training Halls Challenges as well as a 1 v 1 ranked battle match; we even spend some of our gold to open some Soul Orb booster packs for you!
