The premium purchased currency in the game is Gems, players can buy different gem bundles gaining a bigger discount by purchasing more gems. There are Special Offers that are attached to some larger gem bundles that also grant some free items in game.

Every element in the game can be enhanced through premium Gem spending. Whether increasing the number of troops available in an army, instantly healing those injured units after an attack, purchasing resources that are missing, buying science points used to unlock new techs, and much more. Players are able to progress their empire far quicker than non-Gem spenders, and they gain a bigger advantage in combat.
Is the user interface customization restricted to paid options?

The main “slot” limitation comes in the form of the barracks building; players can unlock slots that allow players to train and hold more units in a single building. Some slots are unlocked through spending standard currency, but others can only be unlocked by spending Gems, giving advantage to paying players. Similarly the buildable land can be expanded with various technologies, but players with Gems can expand it further allowing them to construct larger cities.
Are all dungeons and zones accessible without purchases?

Players can access all zones for free.
Does the game restrict high endgame content (PVE, Raids or PvP)?

The game does not restrict end game content to paying players.
Can the game be fully enjoyed without ever having to spend a ‘penny’?

The game offers an extensive PVE campaign that has a strong story and lots of strategy focused levels to defeat. With PVP players can enjoy a successful expansion, especially when teaming up with other players. However, at higher level PVP where strategy is fairly even, the abilities and benefits granted by Gems provides far too much of an advantage to keep PVP balanced between paying and non-paying players.
