New Expansion Announced for RIFT

Rift - news

A new expansion has been announced for RIFT, however (and you may not like this) although the game went free-to-play some years ago, this massive content update won't be available for free. The expansion, dubbed Starfall Prophecy, will introduce five new zones, two dungeons, one raid, a new personal loot system, a new level cap, new special types of equipements, new gear, PvP Sieges, the new assault adventures and significant technical upgrades.

“We look forward to delivering this expansion the way our players overwhelmingly wanted it: One simple purchase, instead of encountering potential surprises like equipment slot and loot rights purchases, as we did with our previous expansion,” said Chris Junior, RIFT Game Director at Trion.

This expansion will add a new crafting tier and more guild levels, and it will also allow players to obtain Legendary Powers, offering more customization options through the Soul system. Additionally, the new types of equipment, called Eternal items, and the new Planar Fragments will allow players to improve their gear.

For those interested, it will launch this Fall, and it will be available in two different editions: Standard, for $39.99/€39.99/£30.49; and Deluxe, for $59.99/€59.99/£45.99.
